Bridging the Knowledge Gap in Collaborative Research—in Dialogues We Trust

Abstract By building upon the prior work exploring nature of practicing and knowing in collaborative research (CR), this article argues that focusing on how trust evolves dialogue could enhance learning potential CR projects. Drawing from 42 workshops within a project, we analyze practices develop trust. We use dialogical framework developed by Walton Krabbe (1995) to identify classify 107 dialogues. From our data, three distinct patterns (educating, inquiring practicing). These are related four conceptualized as knowledge sharing, gapping, bettering speculating. Combined, these propose results represent an emerging conceptual language addresses development managing This can both improve managerial practice context inspire future theory building.
